Our office has been asked how we can provide the same if not higher level of service and items as our competitors for hundreds of dollars less on an equal package.
The parent company of The Las Vegas Wedding Company was established as a wholesale provider to wedding brokers in the Las Vegas area.
A wedding broker is not unlike a travel agent, the company or individual normally has a web site, a merchant account and provides advertising or is listed in the search engines. A couple will call them and reserve a wedding and in most cases (not all) will not have any knowledge that their wedding is being contracted out to a third party or a chapel. One of our brokers reserved over 145 weddings with the company in 2005.
However, the services of the brokers carries with it a very high price in the form of commissions and/or mark ups that the brokers applies to any wedding packages.
These mark ups can average 20 to 30 percents (we have seen them as high as 45%) or a flat mark up of $200 to $300.00 dollars plus an administration fee of up to fifty five dollars plus other fees and extras that the broker charges for that are included in the providers pricing. Some companies that are not brokers will sub contract portions of your wedding. With The Las Vegas Wedding Company, except for helicopters and larger transportation (Buses etc) all of your wedding is completed by company employees and equipment owned by the company.
Should a provider have a retail site the brokers requires that the retail pricing matches or exceeds that of the brokers site. Furthermore, The Las Vegas Wedding Company does not pay a commission to our employees saving you money.
In 2007, The Las Vegas Wedding Company elected to offer to the public a direct buy concept by offering our weddings at the wholesale cost to the public that the brokers were paying us.
Has it worked? Will it hasn't made a lot of our former brokers or competitors real happy, but our guests love the savings of hundreds of dollars per wedding.
